MEZZO

MEZZO STRENGTHENS ITS INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE

 

At the end of 2006, Mezzo counted more than 13.5 million subscribers in Europe, and is seeing major international growth.

 

Mezzo has been strengthening its international presence and as of December 31, 2006, exceeded 11 million subscribers outside of France.

The channel has grown by 268,000 international subscribers, a 2.5% increase in the last quarter of 2006.

Compared to the year 2005, Mezzo saw its international network expand

significantly, by 25%, or more than 2 million new subscribers in one year.

Today, over 11.1 million households in more than 35 countries subscribe to

Mezzo, including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldavia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Serbia, Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Malta, Portugal, and

Turkey.

 

Now, Mezzo is preparing to conquer new markets.

 

The channel is represented internationally by Lagardère Networks International, a subsidiary of Lagardère Active Media. Mezzo is distributed across France to more than 2.4 million subscribers. The channel is part of

France’s two satellite television offerings, Canalsat and TPS, on cable and ADSL.

YOUNGER AUDIENCE FOR MEZZO

 

According to the bi-annual MédiaCabSat survey by Médiamétrie in France, results of wave 11 confirm the efficiency of the programming characterized by its high quality content:

Clearly identified programming strands
Unreleased, exclusive, programs
Appealing to a large audience

MEZZO’s viewership is getting younger thanks notably to its innovative short formats’ (videos) broadcasting:

30% growth on viewers aged 15 to 34 (vs wave 10*)
MEZZO’s audience remains predominantly AB+ (upper social class) viewers (38.5 %).

Between wave 9** and 11, MEZZO has substantially strengthened its reach:

5.1 Million TV viewers during the 4 weeks’ wave***
a 14% growth on 4+ subscribers (vs wave 9)

 

Mezzo is the leading classic and jazz TV channel in Europe with more than 11 million households in 38 countries.
